Founding Debaters Program

A "Program Debate" is a debate through a Debbly challenge link between two participants who have both accepted the current version of this Agreement before the debate starts, while the Founding Debaters Program is active and within the bonus limits in Section 3.

You match yourselves. Debbly does not arrange, schedule, or supervise Program Debates. Participants find each other (for example, in our official Discord community), agree on a topic and time, and debate via a challenge link. Your opponent is not acting on Debbly's behalf.

All other debates are governed solely by the standard Terms of Service.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher), legally able to enter into this Agreement and receive bonuses, and have a Debbly account in good standing. We may decline, suspend, or remove any participant from the program at our discretion.

Debbly will send you a $10 USD thank-you bonus per completed Program Debate. A Program Debate is "completed" when you show up at the agreed time, debate the agreed topic in good faith for the agreed duration (or at least 15 minutes if none was agreed), meet the requirements of Section 4, and comply with this Agreement, the Terms of Service, and the Community Guidelines throughout.

Limits. We provide bonuses for no more than 4 Program Debates per person per day, 2 Program Debates between the same pair of participants, and $100 USD in total per person across the entire program. Debates beyond these limits are not bonus-eligible and are governed solely by the standard Terms of Service.

The bonus will be sent within 14 days of the completed debate, to the PayPal or Venmo account you provide on your profile page. If you complete a debate before adding a payout method, we will send the bonus once you add one.

Independent contractor. You participate as an independent contractor, not as an employee, agent, or partner of Debbly. You are solely responsible for any taxes on amounts we send you.

Program Debates are recorded and published. Any device or location works — a phone on the street is fine — as long as, throughout the debate, your face is clearly visible and reasonably lit, your speech is easy to understand, and your connection is stable enough for continuous video. We may decline a bonus for a debate whose recording is unusable because of video, audio, or connection issues on your side.

You retain ownership of your contribution to Program Debates. In consideration of the bonus above, you grant Debbly a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, stream, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works of (including clips and highlights), and use for marketing and promotion each Program Debate recording, for twelve (12) months from the date the debate is recorded.

During that 12-month period, the license is irrevocable, survives deletion of your account, and you waive your rights under the Terms of Service (Sections 4, 5, and 10) to make the recording private or request its deletion. After the period, the recording remains on the Platform under the standard Terms of Service and your normal rights apply to it again.

You may still report a recording to us for safety, legal, or privacy concerns, and we will review such requests in good faith. Debbly retains its own right to remove, restrict, or make private any content. Nothing in this section limits rights under applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR) that cannot be waived by contract.

In Program Debates you agree to:

• Debate genuinely and in good faith — no scripted or staged exchanges presented as genuine, and no collusion with your opponent to farm bonuses
• Follow the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
• Only present arguments and materials you have the right to use

We may withhold bonuses for debates that violate this section and remove you from the program.

You may leave the Founding Debaters Program at any time, and we may modify, suspend, or end it at any time. Neither affects debates already completed: the license and waiver in Section 5 continue for their full 12-month term, and we remain obligated to send bonuses for completed Program Debates. If we materially change this Agreement, the new version applies only to Program Debates that start after you accept it.

This Agreement supplements the Terms of Service, which continue to apply. If they conflict with respect to a Program Debate, this Agreement prevails. The governing law, dispute resolution, disclaimers, and limitation of liability provisions of the Terms of Service apply to this Agreement.

You accept this Agreement by clicking "Agree" in the Founding Debaters Program section of your profile page while signed in. We record the date, time, and version of the Agreement you accepted.
